You can access physiotherapy directly, without referral, or via a medical practitioner e.g. GP or Consultant, with a referral letter.

Reimbursement is possible if you have private insurance (e.g. VHI, Quinn, Aviva Healthcare), depending on your insurance plan - check with your insurer.

It is also worth noting that all patients may be entitled to tax relief by submitting a MED 1 form with their annual tax return - see http://www.revenue.ie/en/index.html for more details.
